The Weak in Leaks - June 13th, 2009 ![]() Following the star-studded event that was last week's Weak in Leaks is one of the weekly event's most unremarkable installments yet. Last week we got Dinosaur Jr. and Mos Def; this week we get Moby and The Jonas Brothers. Entitled Wait for Me, the former's is "quieter and more melodic and more mournful and more personal" than his some of his older works, and is not "concerned about how it might be received by the marketplace." The latter is, well, a Jonas Brothers album—but at least there's a song with Common on it! Also leaked: Jhelli Beam, the latest album from the always interesting underground rapper Busdriver; Major Lazers' Guns Don't Kill People... Lazers Do, the collaborative debut of DJs Diplo and Switch; The Longcut's sophomore effort Open Hearts; Ra Ra Riot's Wes Miles and Vampire Weekend's Rostam Batmanglij's LP, released under the moniker Discovery; Post Electric Blues, the sixth full-legnth album by Scottish indie rockers Idlewild; 3, another album of covers from French collective Nouvelle Vague, feautring renditions of songs by Talking Heads, Psychedelic Furs, and Simple Minds, et al; and Big Noisy Sex, a self-titled release from a group composed of Lydia Lunch, Terry Edwards, James Johnston, and Ian White. |
